Create and Send Mailing
CiviCRM Tutorials
- On the CiviCRM menu click on Mailings > New Mailing
- Enter the title of the mailing in the 'Name your mailing' field (note: this is for the system purposes, not for the email subject)
- In the 'Include Group(s)' field highlight the groups to which you want to send the mailing (e.g. "Active Members") and click on the Add button - repeat this step for all desired groups
- Click on the Next button
- Keep the options on the 'Track and Respond' screen untouched unless you have a specific reason for changing them
- Click on the Next button
- In the 'Mailing Content' screen select the from address and type the mailing subject
- In the 'Use template' drop-down select the template that works best for this mailing; choose "Generic" if unsure
- If some content pre-populated in the 'HTML format' section, replace it with your text and images
- Same goes for the 'Plain-text format' section
- If you wish to attach one or more files, click on the triangle next to the word 'Attachments'
- Leave the header and footer as is
- Click on the Next button
- In the 'Test' screen you may choose to send a test email with this mailing to one or more recipients
- Click on the Next button
- In the 'Schedule or send' screen you may either keep the 'Send immediatelly' check-box ticked or untick it and fill out the date and time to schedule the mailing to be sent out at a later time
- Click on the Submit mailing button
