When it comes to custom-ordering the articles on a page, there are two steps to take:

Order Articles in "Article Manager"

1. Access your website's administrator interface (aka "back end")
2. On the main menu (right under the Joomla logo) click on Content >> Article Manager
3. In the right-hand upper corner you will see 4 drop-down filters - click on Select Category and... do just that
4. Reorder the articles as needed

• either using the green arrows/triangles to move each article up or down, one step at a time
• or enter the numbers to specify the order for each article and press the disc icon in the "Order" column heading - this will save your entered order

Configure Menu Item Parameters

The menu item configuration can honor or override the article order set in the Article Manager. Here are the steps:

1. Access the administrative interface (back end)
2. On the main menu click on Menus, then select the menu list where the desired menu item resides
3. Look for the menu item you want to configure and click on its name; NOTE: if you have a long menu item list, the item you're looking for might be on the second page (or farther)
4. Once in the "Menu Item: Edit" screen, on the right-hand side click on Parameters (Advanced)
5. Select the appropriate setting in the Primary Order field; to honor the order set in the Article Manager, select "Order"
